| Site change coming |
I think so, anyway. I would actually prefer to keep special events separate from the comics archive. And I need a way to more quickly display everything that's been updated, all at once. Revenue-generating efforts (commssions, wallpaper, etc) need to stay on the front-burner without being an unnecessary distraction from the entertainment content.
I think this new layout is straightforward enough as a portal to compensate for not having the comic on the front page. The newest comic in the regular series will have a static URL, so folks who really want to can bookmark it instead, anyway, but they might miss out on other short stories and features coming up in the future.
I reconfigured some PHP last night to make this happen, utilizing the ComicGallery script I'm already using. The script finds the newest update in the relevant folder automatically, so I don't have to rewrite HTML every single day. That gets awfully tedious. Adding a new box for a featured section is also easy, so I'll have more incentive to do special event comics from time to time. |
