Ryley and Val are on their knees, pleading with Baughb.
RYLEY:
No, no, no, no -- it can't be true!
VAL:
Are you sure it wasn't a professional Glynhial impersonator?
RYLEY:
You didn't tell her about us, did you? Oh, Baughb, please -- she'll destroy us!
Baughb looks down on them with sympathy.
BAUGHB:
I care deeply about you both. But that's why I must warn you. I have no choice but to remain my mistress Glynhial's loyal servant. I lied to her for now, for her sake as well as yours. I told her that the faeries are no more. She is abroad now, her task to assess the extent of the destruction of Alfheim. What she will find will not please her. I will spare her your story --
We see Ryley and Val, as faeries, following Baughb in his travelling gear, finding the broken pieces of Glynhial's bottle.
BAUGHB:
If I can. However, if you choose to stay, your road will be hard. Glynhial will know, and she will punish you for rejecting your heritage, no matter your excuse. I will do what I can, speak for you. You did help me find the shards of her prison in the old ruins. In thinking she had also perished, we erred.
Return to Baughb now, looking sad.
BAUGHB:
That is a thing she will forgive. Other things -- perhaps not. I thought -- I had hoped -- hoped that I had put that life behind me. I won't condemn you for running. I almost wish I could.
