Airek's fateful day

See Filis' wonderful day and Glynhial kidnaps Airek.

Filis dances joyfully while a distressed Airek looks on.

Airek (caption):

It's the worst day of my life. First, my best friend tells me she's in love with Baughb. Baughb the lothario!

She even admitted to -- to -- frolicking with him.

I was devastated.

Airek looks sad and thoughtful.

Airek (caption):

Filis -- my cousin -- we'd been together since we were children. She must never have felt the way I felt.

Kitchen scene: Baughb, Glynhial, the sprite, and Airek are eating breakfast. Actually, none of them are eating. Baughb is in conference with Glynhial; Glynhial stares pensively at her food as if she's never seen bacon and eggs before; the sprite is tossing chunks of eggs into the air looking for the hidden prize; Airek is too disgusted by the sprite to eat. Filis is serving, floating around on a cloud of hearts.

Airek (caption):

Then I found myself sharing breakfast, not just with the despicable Baughb the elf --

But an unhinged faerie named Glynhial, a dangerous menace from the past...

...and other creatures who have no business sitting at the kitchen table.

Baughb:

So you see what we're up against.

Glynhial:

Hmmm... there's not a moment to lose, then.

Glynhial throws off her blanket and lunges at Airek.

Airek (caption):

Then it happened: Glynhial snapped!

Glynhial:

Come with me, ogre boy!

We'll see the world for ourselves!

Airek (caption):

And just like that, she snatched me out the window...kidnapped!

A farmer with a pitchfork pins down a highly distressed Airek.

Airek:

So you'll appreciate I'm under a lot of stress!

Farmer boy:

D - don't move, critter!
