Book Elves.

Alfheim Synopsis

NOTE: As of this writing, the ambitious, complicated Wedding of Baughb is incomplete, due to a lack of reader interest at the time of serialization. The new series, Alfheim, pretends that the Wedding story is finished and moves on from there.

A few months have passed since the disastrous wedding of Baughb the elf, wherein our hero narrowly averts matrimony with the precious Natully Vanhooven.

The elves are still recuperating from the ordeal. Filis seems to be nursing some lingering wounds; Airek somehow got married to the mermaid Leukothea; and the Sprite is still sleeping off all the food he ate at the party. Baughb, however, is the same as always, only moreso.

The faerie Glynhial, remembered in elven history as a monster from the past, has taken up residence in the dark forest of Hollow-wood, hoping to reverse her fortunes. She attempts to convert Frederica's old dress shop into a shrine to herself, but it doesn't stand up to everyday wear and tear.

However, the elven elders have not been idle. The faeries, who once lorded over the elves as gods on earth, are soon banished from the elven lands altogether; Glynhial, for all her great magic power, has always been at the mercy of elven politics.

In the old kingdom, she had learned to rely on the surprising cunning of her bodyguard: Baughb the elf. And, indeed, Baughb had a plan. His old friend, Officer Troll, who was giddy with the thought of harrassing Glynhial, warned Baughb of the elder's decision, and submitted to a charade in order to convince the other elves that the elders had banished Baughb, as well.

Baughb and the faeries planned to regroup at the Steigh Inn, a human establishment which lies on the outskirts of elven territory. They expected to be joined eventually by Airek and Leukothea, who had also been banished.

Filis, who was still weak (but also pretending for sympathy) was not part of this plan, but quickly uncovered Baughb's deception.

Meanwhile, Airek and Thea had to take the long way around. A ship hijacked by mermaids answered Thea's call; only it was a ship from their future that had come back to kidnap Airek from the past, and to make an appearance at the real wedding of Baughb and Filis...
